The General Council of the Assemblies of God Nigeria held her General Committee meeting on the 8th and 9th day of June 2017 at the Church National Secretariat, Plot R8 Ozubulu Street, Independence Layout, Enugu.
In attendance was the Retired General Superintendent(Rev. Dr. Charles Ogbonnaya Osueke); The General Council Officers (The General Superintendent – Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor; Assistant General Superintendent- Rev. Pastor Ejikeme Ejim; General Secretary-Rev. Dr. Godwin Amaowoh and the General Treasurer- Rev. Dr. Vincent Akin Alaje); Executive Committee; General Committee; Directors of the General Councils and the Legal team
The General Superintendent during his speech announced the theme of 2018 as the year of REVIVAL OF HIS GLORY from the book of Haggai 2:5-9, as agreed by the Executive Officers, Executive Members and the General Committee. He also said 2017 God has really done great sanitation and He is still working to do more.
While the meeting was going on, testimonies of churches that came back to join the General Council of the Assemblies of God Nigeria under the administration of the Rev. Dr. Chidi Agodi Okoroafor were shared by Superintendents and Supervisors on behalf of their Districts and Missionary areas. Rev. Hyacinth Ngene, the Abuja District Superintendent made mention of Suleja church that came back fully and over 200 members came during the first bible study after they came back fully to the General Council and another was given to them as they requested. The Retired General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Nigeria (Rev. Dr. Charles Osueke) in his statement also testified of God’s moved at suleja church when he was with them during Easter Retreat. He also said many churches are still coming back to us.
